Chelsea Hutchison Foundation

The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation is a Colorado non-profit corporation formed by Julie and Doug Hutchison to provide help to individuals who have epilepsy.  Funds raised by this Foundation provide grants for trained seizure-response dogs and seizure movement monitors for those in need.  The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation is named for Julie and Doug’s beloved daughter, Chelsea, who died in her sleep during a seizure in April of 2009.  SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) was the cause of her death.  During the 6 years that Chelsea had seizures, no one over told the Hutchisons a seizure could take her life, other than through an accidental fall or drowning.   As a result of that omission, The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation raises SUDEP Awareness so other families are not blindsided.

HOPE’S PROMISE has been serving both birth and adoptive families since that time.In 2002, HOPE’S PROMISE launched the Hope’s Promise Orphan Ministries (HPOM) division. With the staggering number of orphans worldwide, HPOM was created in order to care for fatherless and orphaned children around the world by opening small family homes in the countries of the children’s origin. These families offer a place of refuge, where the children are embraced and nurtured to adulthood. Each family home offers a high standard of care for the children where they feed, teach, heal and share Christ’s love.
